Dear Church Family,
In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 we read, "Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus." As a congregation we have much for which to be thankful. We are going to give thanks to God on May 15 as we celebrate our ministry and service during worship. We will then continue our celebration with a potluck meal following worship.
This time of celebration is laying the groundwork for moving forward in faithful ministry and next steps in preparing for the work necessary with a new building. You will not want to miss this special time of worship.
As Paul wrote to the church in Thessalonica he instructed the Church to illustrate their life of faith with three actions. We too are being challenged to participate in God's kingdom on earth by being, "joyful always, to never stop praying and to be thankful in every circumstance."
Let us be joyful always as a congregation for the way God is leading us. I am thankful for the May 1-2 with the ministry of Jerry Lucas as he will teach us to unlock our ability to memorize information such as scripture, names and faces, lists, etc. Invite your friends and neighbors to worship this Sunday morning as Jerry preaches about the healthy, Sunday evening at 6:00 pm the teaching is on memorizing lists and Monday evening at 7:00 pm on names and faces. Each of these teachings are good for the whole family as children and youth will be able to apply what they learn in school each day.
I am inviting us all to pray in every circumstance. Pray for our new adult 9:00 am Sunday School class and a 7:00 pm Tuesday night Bible study that will expand on the sermon series on Putting on the Armor of God as described in Ephesians 6:10-18. Pray for our Church Council as they lead us into the next season of faithful service and new life. Pray specifically for God's guidance and wisdom in the areas of communication, developing discipleship small groups and working out all the details of a new building. Pray for the United Methodist Church as the General Conference takes place May 10-20. This general conference has the potential of dividing the denomination as the delegates take on the issue of Homosexuality.
Let's give thanks that God is always with us and will never leave us. May you be blessed as you are joyful always as God is with you, never stop talking with God in prayer, and give thanks continually for God's saving grace.

Jerry Lucas To Speak At WUMC
Mark your calendars for Sunday, May 1 and Monday, May 2. Jerry Lucas, known today as Dr. Memory, and before that an Ohio State and professional basketball legend, will be preaching on Sunday morning on the topic of "Improving Family Relationships." On Sunday evening at 6:00 p.m., he will teach a one-hour session entitled "Learning Made Fun and Easy" using his Automatic Learning concepts. Then on Monday evening at 7:00 p.m., Jerry will teach another one-hour session entitled "Names and Faces Made Easy." Jerry will also give his testimony during this session to reach as many as possible. This is a great outreach opportunity to invite friends, neighbors and students to learn with us how to remember scripture, names and faces and the endless lists of things we want to remember.

WUMC Mail Box
To Waterville United Methodist Church:
Thank you for your prayers and concerns for our Son, Abraham Wiggins. He is in a much better place emotionally and spiritually through God's grace and through the healing power and love of Christ Jesus. My family felt your prayers and let there be NO doubt that it made a difference in Abe's battle and recovery all to the glory and name of Jesus. Our church, Osborne Baptist, was also praying and it was so comforting and humbling to know that so many Saints were joined together in prayer. It also helped to know that we were not alone in this situation and could ask others to help bear our burden.
Please do not stop praying for each other, and most importantly, praying for the lost, for the unbelieving and for the enemies of the Church. It matters. It makes a difference. It is a privilege that we as Christians should never take lightly or for granted. For Jesus said, 19 "Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. 20 For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." (Matthew 18:19-20)
We also appreciated receiving a card from your church ministry. It is the little things that often make a big difference and I pray that you will continue in this endeavor to offer comfort to others who are sick or hurting.
We can't thank you enough and just ask that you continue to pray for Abe and for our family as we walk together from this trial in our lives one day at a time.
Take care and God Bless.
Sincerely In Christ,
The Family of Tom Wiggins, Jr.

Operation Christmas Child Packing Party Items
One more box=one more child reached in Jesus name.
What an amazing number of boxes WUMC was able to add to our count by the yearlong collection of items last year and 2016 looks even more amazing.
May items to be on the lookout for are Hygiene Items (handsoap, washcloths, small towels, hairbrushes, combs, deodorant, etc.)
Look for sale items, but also please remember the items in this box could possibly be the only gift of this sort the child may ever receive. Lets have items be a quality that can be useful for the child. The purpose of the shoebox is to grab the child's attention, and let them know there are people that do not even know them, but care for them and will pray for them to come to know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, not to see how many items we can get into one box.
A box has been placed by the main enterance for collection of your items.
Community Relations Volunteer
Operation Christmas Child is requesting that all relay collection centers have a representative from their congregation willing to assist as a "Community Relations Volunteer" in their own community. The volunteer position would entail being willing to contact area schools, civic and service clubs, businesses, Boy and Girl Scout Troops and other community organizations to encourage them to pack shoe boxes. We would then supply them with pamphlets and boxes if they so desire.
Please prayerfully consider the few hours this task would take, while greatly helping expand this outreach. If you have a passion for OCC and have considered helping in some other way, we welcome your prayerful consideration of assistance in this ministry.
Please contact Anne Stevens at 419.367.7379 or the church office.
If you would be interested in going on the Operation Christimas Child trip to the Charlotte Processing Center, November 28-December 3, 2016, please see Karen Longnecker as soon as possible. They will be taking 2 buses but space fills up fast. Reservations need to be sent in soon.
