January 2018

Dear Church Family,

Happy 2018. It is hard to believe 2017 is a few days from being complete and 2018 is on the verge of beginning. Here at the church we have several exciting opportunities during 2018 beginning as well.

A couple of months ago I mentioned ministries at the Waterville Primary School. These will begin in January. Be sure to watch for further announcements as the children return to school.

Another exciting opportunity that you will want to look for are the announcements and information meetings for the new building. For those of you not familiar with the vision God has given our congregation here is some additional information.

For over 20 years there has been a dream and vision to build a new building that is one level and in a more visible location. Waterville UMC owns 10 acres at 7115 Waterville Monclova Rd. which is next door to the Fire House. My thanks to the many people that have served and sacrificed to get us to this point.

The present Building Leadership Team is about to receive the final building cost for the recommended first phase of our relocation. This is an exciting time. Watch for many announcements for congregational meetings towards the end of January.

I am so excited with what God is doing in our midst. As we pray together for the moving of the Holy Spirit in our personal lives and in our congregation God will bless all of His ministry plans for us as we join God where He is already working to prepare the way.

Most of all pray for God's guidance for each step we take together. For we are the light of Christ in our community. May Waterville and the region around us see the Light of Christ shining brightly from Waterville UMC as we serve God.

Be blessed in 2018 with the peace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit,

Pastor Mike

Christmas Candlelight Service 2017

Altar Guild

WUMC has been very fortunate these many years to bring the creativity of our Lord into our presence at each worship service in a number of ways but especially with the flower arrangements on our altar.  These arrangements give us the opportunity to enjoy the flowers and along with the spoken word and music be reminded of who we are worshiping.  They also provide an occasion to honor and celebrate family, friends and our Lord.  I take this time to tell you Third Street Blooms in Waterville is the florist who prepares each order for our altar as requested.  The Sign Up sheet for flowers is on the bulletin board by the church office.  The cost of each arrangement will be increased to forty ($40.00) dollars beginning the first of 2018.  If you have ordered flowers recently you realize the cost.  Our florist has been very generous with the arrangements and delivery.

Send your payment to the church and indicate altar flowers.

Don't forget you may take your arrangement home after the service.
